Very nice green dot optic
Easy to install. I mounted it directly to a S&W M&P 22 magnum. I bought the EPS mainly because it is easier to clean the glass. It has a wider window than a 507 making visibility easier for hunting. It seems to be a quality optic that is worth every penny.One thing that disappointed me was the omission of a built in rear sight. I recommend this for carrying in the field and target shooting. HE507k-gr X2 is my favorite edc green dot.

Best Full-Size Pistol Red Dot
Large clear window with quick adjustment buttons and adapts to variant lighting. Being enclosed also makes it great for concealed carry as you don’t have to worry about lint and other contaminates clogging the emitter. Better and cheaper than the RCR.

Best option for the price by far.
This is my 5th eps and it’s excellent. Paired c&h plate and some high (not suppressor height) ameriglo sights and it lower 1/3 co-witnesses perfectly for me on a gen 5 19. I have a multitude of optics from low to high prices but this eps is absolute perfection for the money.

The EPS with solar sucksControls: Suck, its a mystery what function is being selected and difficult to find the setting you wantAuto Mode: sucks!! If your standing in a dark spot but your target is in a bright spots the auto function dims the reticle and then you can’t see it on the targetDot Reticle: Sucks!!! When shooting the concussion causes the dot to change momentarily to circle and then back again that’s definitely not how it’s supposed to work, it sucks!Changing from auto mode to manual mode it’s a mystery and you can’t figure it out. Doesn’t work every time you want and if you need to change quickly, forget it Manuel mode is the best because you can adjust the brightness easily.This product has a good concept, but the controls are absolutely horrid

Would not zero, needs special plates
I’ve been running a Holosun 507c on my Glock 17 Gen 4 MOS for several years that has worked well. I decided to upgrade to an enclosed emitter design and settled on this Holosun EPS. For those unaware, open emitter designs (almost all pistol red dots on the market as of Dec. 2023) will not work if anything (lint, water, snow, mud, etc.) gets on emitter window. Obviously this is not great for an everyday carry optic. This Holosun EPS is an enclosed emitter design so you shouldn’t have to worry about dirt or water getting on the emitter.On receiving the EPS I found that it will not directly attach to any of the four standard Glock MOS plates. The EPS comes with a plate that connects to the #2 Glock plate, you have to stack the two plates to get this attached. Stacking plates is always going to be mechanically weaker than using one plate and results in the optic being mounted very high on the slide, not great for everyday carry. Additionally, theres no chance of cowitnessing with standard hight sights with the high mount height.I purchased a DPP Titanium adapter plate to connect the Holosun EPS directly to the Glock slide, the plate seems well made and the EPS mounted right up. I mounted the EPS with a torque screwdriver using the recommended torque specs and added blue loctite to all screws. With the DPP Titanium plate, the EPS sits just barely too high to cowitness with stock hight sights but still relatively low profile overall.I took the G17 with EPS mounted to the range and set up a target at 15 yards to get it zeroed. First round didn’t even hit paper. I moved in to about 7 yards and the next shot was about 10″ high. I adjusted the elevation screw on the EPS and after a couple more shots sort of got the EPS roughly zeroed. This required moving the elevation adjustment to 3 clicks short of its maximum travel.With the EPS “zeroed” I fired a 10 round string at 7 yards and the group was all over the place, I’m guessing a 9 inch group. I’m not claiming to be an elite pistol shooter but I can typically manage a 4″ group at 15 yards with stock Glock sights or a 2″ group with a red dot. I checked so see if the EPS had come loose but it was very solidly attached to the slide with all the screws still tight.At this point I realized I’d gotten an bad unit and returned it to Amazon. I considered ordering a replacement but decided against it. Looking around at other reviews and forums, a lot of people have gotten bad Holosun optics. In all fairness to Holosun, a lot of pistol red dots are less than perfectly reliable (makes sense given the abuse they take as the slide cycles) and my Holosun 507c has worked well for years. Reliability for an optic on a carry gun is vital, this is something you life might depend on and any replacement EPS, even if it worked perfectly out of the box, is going to leave me questioning if it is going to work should I really need it. At this price point ($430 as of Dec. 2023) the Holosun EPS is competing with the high end of the red dot market (Steiner, Aimpoint, etc.) and for an extra $100 I’d much rather have one of those.Holosun is a Chinese company. We’re all free to spend our money as we see fit, and products with good quality at low cost are always going to be desirable. For Firearm components and parts many people want to buy American-made products, or at least products made in western European free countries, if the cost is reasonable. The Holosun EPS clearly has quality issues, is relatively high cost and is made in China, not exactly a wining combination.

Perfect on compact or subcompact pistols, enclosed laser, high accuracy
This red dot (actually I got the green laser version) even includes the plate to mount on Glock 43x MOS and 48 MOS. It does everything a “red dot” sight should do: highly accurate, clearly visible, long battery life, enclosed laser compartment (to prevent lint, dust, or water from blocking laser dot), and the battery replaceable without removing the unit (and therefore not requiring re-zeroing the red dot after battery replacement). Also has solar cell to limit battery use during the daytime, and infinitely adjustable brightness for sunlight or night use. I like the option to switch from the tiny 2 MOA dot (when careful accurate slow aim), or the easy to find and easy to see bright big 32 MOA circle for more rapid fire. Or both can be turned on.It would definitely get 5+ stars except for one big problem – the supplied screws are too long for securing the plate to a Glock MOS or on a Sig P365 series. The screws could interfere with the slide. You can file the screws down or purchase shorter screws. But, for a top of the line red dot, these two shorter screw should be included.
